# Collections

A collection is a flexible grouping mechanism for organizing assets. Collections support hierarchical structures through parent-child relationships and follow a lifecycle model with draft, active, inactive, and removed states.

## List collections

## Create a collection

 - [POST /v1/collections](https://docs.apiera.io/openapi/collections/paths/~1v1~1collections/post.md): Creates a new collection. The collection is created in draft status.

## Get a collection

 - [GET /v1/collections/{collectionUuid}](https://docs.apiera.io/openapi/collections/paths/~1v1~1collections~1%7Bcollectionuuid%7D/get.md): Retrieves a single collection by its unique identifier.

## Update a collection

 - [PATCH /v1/collections/{collectionUuid}](https://docs.apiera.io/openapi/collections/paths/~1v1~1collections~1%7Bcollectionuuid%7D/patch.md): Updates an existing collection. Only provided fields are modified; omitted fields remain unchanged.

## Delete a collection

## Transition collection lifecycle
